First-of-its-kind virtual launch puts CLAAS in India ahead of the league

ROLLANT 520RF Baler enters India, virtually

In a significant development, CLAAS India has built a virtual launch platform to introduce new series of straw balers - ROLLANT 520RF round baler and MARKANT 650 square baler - highlighting CLAAS’ contribution to the cause of crop residue management and effort taken to adapt to the new normal during these challenging times.

For this first of its kind event in agricultural machinery landscape in South Asia, a dedicated virtual platform has been created to host a series of launch events for ROLLANT 520RF and MARKANT 650. The first few events that are already aired have created much enthusiasm in the farming community who are watching the events on their mobile devices or computers. This way, they are getting to know the machines without compromising on their safety in a crowded exhibition or physical customer events.

Apart from the baling product line, a host of other important virtual events are lined up for broadcasting on this exciting platform; most importantly, the much-awaited launch of new generation of the legendary CROP TIGER combine harvester.

During the thrilling launch event, Jay Singh, Managing Director, CLAAS Agricultural Machinery Pvt Ltd. stated that “CLAAS India strongly believes that technological intervention can help in reducing impact on the environment generated from crop stubble burning. Our new series of straw balers esp. the ROLLANT 520RF, are the appropriate solution for making bales in adequate sizes which makes them ideal for the ethanol and biogas plants in India that use crop residue as raw material.”

Dr. Jens Oeding, Regional President Asia, CLAAS Group, connected to the virtual platform from Harsewinkel stating that “we are continually striving to bring new technologies that can benefit Indian farming community with improved productivity and higher earnings. With the launch of ROLLANT 520RF round baler, CLAAS has reinforced its commitment to enhance efficiency of farming in India. These balers would provide the opportunity to farmers to earn from waste crop residue, which would otherwise be burnt thereby causing tremendous damage to the environment”.

Anil Menon, Head of Market Development, did a virtual machine walk around as the machine rotated on a turntable, explaining features and benefits of the ROLLANT 520RF and MARKANT 650 balers. Prem Kumar, National Sales Head, touched upon returns from baling as a business for potential customers and the strength of distribution in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Nepal in terms of sales, service & parts locations.
